- P.M.U.
- (abbr. Pari Mutuel Urbain): The Tote. (In a country where private bookmakers have been outlawed, the state-run Pari Mutuel Urbain has a monopoly where on-and off-course betting is concerned. Because there are no betting shops as such, the P.m.U. does business in selected cafés but only in the morning prior to race meetings.)
